February Book Wrap Up | 2018
Hey everyone, how’s it going? Can you believe it’s March already?! I come to you with a much shorter Book Wrap Up than last month… and a new header! I hope you like. I’m forever tinkering with my blog so any feedback would be much appreciated.
In case you missed it, I wrote about my anticipated YA releases in Feb and sadly didn’t get to read any of the delicious Sci-fi that came out! Though I have started one of them so that’s something right?

I first heard about Savage Island by Bryony Pearce at the Stripes Blogger Event in January. When Bryony told us about the book I was sold straight away, I was definitely craving some horror in YA!
It’s been a while since I read a horror book, so initially I was taken aback by the horror elements (I know, what was I expecting?!) But it had me gasping out loud and gripped for more! I’m going to be part of the blog tour for Savage Island so keep an eye out for the full review!

Okay I’ve found Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner quite hard to review. I enjoyed this book for the most part, it’s really fascinating and intriguing, with a huge cliff hanger at the end! Though I have to admit I knew it was coming really early on. I listened to Unearthed on Audible, the narrators are really good and really make the story work well.
It was a very slow build with slow pacing throughout with a lot of repetition to make sure we understood the world building. I felt like shouting ‘yes I remember! You don’t need to remind me every 10 pages’. That being said I still really enjoyed it, the story is fascinating, and it’s about space so… yeah!

I also heard about She Myself and I by Emma Young at the Stripes event and just HAD to read it. I was so intrigued by the thought of a young girl having a brain transplant into someone else’s body. It was different to what I expected but still enjoyable. Full review to come.
Didn’t read a huge amount in Feb… oops! It was my birthday month and I went to Amsterdam so that’s my excuse!

Great wrap up! I read two brilliant books that are out in March – The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw and To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo. Both Very much recommended!!
Hope you loved your trip to Amsterdam! But three books aare better than nothing, plus you enjoyed them, right? 😉
I read some mixed review for Kaufman’s book but I’m still intentioned to read it. I don’t mind some worldbuilding repetition, if manage the add clarity to the world… unless it written boringly and randomly

Book Wrap. This is such a wonderful idea. I need to borrow it from you.
I have a hunch that the undying are just that un-dying. Isn’t Gaia an ancient name for Earth? I will not surprise to learn that the undying are one of Earth’s earlier ancestors(or decedents generations later) . Can’t wait to read it with my teen.
