Camp NaNoWriMo 2018 is on it’s way!
Hello my lovely friends, how are we all doing today? As you may have realised, it’s the 1st of March! Do you know what that means?! YOU CAN DECLARE YOUR CAMP NANOWRIMO 2018 NOVEL!

Wait, what?
What is Camp NaNoWriMo?
Okay let me explain. You’ve probably heard of NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month, which takes place every November. The aim of NaNoWriMo is to write 50k words of your novel in one month. It’s intense and so much fun! A lot of people have heard of it these days. I actually wrote a series of NaNoWriMo posts last November if you want to check them out.
So what is Camp NaNo? It’s NaNoWriMo’s arguably more fun sister! Camp happens twice during the year in April and July. The best bit?
You decide your word target
That’s right! You can set yourself a goal of 1-100k+! My first Camp that I took part in I set myself the target of 25k and I hit it! It was the first NaNoWriMo I had won and it felt so so good.
What Camp NaNoWriMo Entails
- You get to set your own word target
- You can work on anything! Novel, play, script… anything!
- You can join ‘cabins’! These are so much fun. They are writing groups on the Camp NaNo website, you can choose to be put in a random one or join one with your friends!
I’m so up for joining a cabin with some pals! Make sure you add me on there, my username is Lykashii!
What do I do now?
You may already have an idea, you may be eager to write, but HOLD YOUR HORSES. March is the time to prep! Think about your novel and do a bit of planning.

I’m going to revisiting a novel I started YEARS ago. I’ve changed a lot since then and so has my idea. So I’m going into it blind, not looking at the words I’ve already written. I’m going to be spending March doing a bit of prep, and I’ll share what I’m doing with you and give you some ideas on what you can be doing for your novel!
Declare your novel here!
Who’s joining me?
I’ll be chatting about my process a lot on Twitter, so follow me there! The hashtag is #CampNaNoWriMo

I declared my Camp NaNo project today! I can’t believe it’s coming up so fast! I’m working on a poetry project that I’ve had in my head for a long time now and being that I’m in between two other book edits I can’t handle another long project. I’m so excited! Also, would love to be pals during camp!
I know right, so so fast! Ohhh that sounds fun! I haven’t written poetry for years.
This will be my first big attempt at poetry since high school but I’m excited to try it out.
I can’t wait to read some (if you’re sharing!)
I guess I’ll have to see once I start writing. I have no clue how comfortable I’ll be about sharing.
Yay! I’m going to be doing it too, finishing my NaNoWriMo 2017 novel, hopefully I’ll actually finish it this time 🙂 My user is MidnightBeast1098, I’ll add you on Camp NaNo if that’s okay! 🙂 Hope your camp goes well!
Yes please do! I haven’t logged in for a couple days but I’ll accept when I log on xx
I’ve actually never done Camp NaNo, though I have done the regular one for quite a few years. I know I’m supposed to be editing things I’ve already written, but it’s so tempting to just start on something new!
Shall I be the devil on your shoulder? *whispers* do ittttt
Yes! I have already succumbed and signed up!
Yaaaaas!
😁😁
yaaaay!
I’d never heard of Camp NaNoWriMo before this post! Blogging has made me think about writing a book before, but writing about my own life comes easier to me than thinking of characters with their own unique storylines, so I really admire novel writers. Best of luck with the camp, and have fun!

Why not start writing about yourself? It may give way to fictional creativity too 😁
I’ll be joining this for the first time. Lets see how it goes! Pretty much excited for this one.
Woohoo! What target you setting yourself?
Ive just joined camp nano, iihave no idea how it works though
They have cabins, but they’re not assigned yet. So you set your preferences you’ll get assigned during the next wave
AHHH I FORGOT CAMP NANO WAS COMING UP. how do i add you as a friend??? I’m setting up my project for this year, and hopefully I complete my goal! I’m currently outlining it as it is so. Here’s hoping!
