Books By My Favourite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read

Haha so today’s Top Ten Tuesday is kinda fitting for me because I have SO many favourite authors that I somehow don’t manage to read?

For example. V.E. Schwab. I think she’s pretty awesome but I’ve yet to pick up a single of her books! Well, I own a ton of them, even have a load of them signed, but just somehow haven’t read any yet? What is with that?!

Anyway I’ll definitely be reading her books eventually… I promise. (EDIT: I actually have read Vicious and Vengeful since writing this post… and LOVED THEM. However I’m leaving this in).

Now for books from authors that I’ve actually read and LOVED but not gotten around to finishing their entire work.

Robin Hobb

I LOVE Robin Hobb so much. Fun fact I accidentially read the second trilogy in this… series? World? Before reading the first. For some reason I managed not to be confused and loved it anyway! However, I’ve not read the final instalment, or most of her other books! There are just so many I think I get a bit daunted? Anyway, they’re brilliant. You need these books in your life! The main character has The Wit, a magic which allows you to bond with an animal and talk to them. Enough said, right?

In a faraway land where members of the royal family are named for the virtues they embody, one young boy will become a walking enigma.

Born on the wrong side of the sheets, Fitz, son of Chivalry Farseer, is a royal bastard, cast out into the world, friendless and lonely. Only his magical link with animals - the old art known as the Wit - gives him solace and companionship. But the Wit, if used too often, is a perilous magic, and one abhorred by the nobility.

On a shelf in his den sits a triptych carved in memory stone of a man, a wolf and a fool. Once, these three were inseparable friends: Fitz, Nighteyes and the Fool. But one is long dead, and one long-missing.

Then one Winterfest night a messenger arrives to seek out Fitz, but mysteriously disappears, leaving nothing but a blood-trail. What was the message? Who was the sender? And what has happened to the messenger?

Suddenly Fitz's violent old life erupts into the peace of his new world, and nothing and no one is safe.

Brent Weeks

Brent Weeks is another author who I’ve loved the work of but not managed to read all of it! I absolutely LOVED the Night Angel Trilogy, but haven’t read any others yet? Why? I have no good reason, other than time I guess. So many books, so little time. I may be giving myself an existential crisis with this post..

Anyway. Although not YA, you should add the Night Angel Trilogy to your TBR! I love assassins and magic, which this trilogy definitely has. It’s exciting, there are twists and turns and the compelling writing keeps you going.

Looking at these, a lot of these are adult… which is probably why I haven’t finished reading them all being a YA blogger?! One day I’ll get to them I’m sure.
