Reading Habits Bookish Tag Blogmas 2018
Hello lovelies, today’s Blogmas post is a fun tag I found on Kathryn’s blog! I’ve recently been doing a LOT of blog hopping and I’ve found some truly wonderful blogs. I’m having so much fun!
The original tag was created by TheBookJazz, I hope you enjoy my version and give it a go yourself!
1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Yes and no, I generally read in bed or on the couch. When I’m reading ebooks on my phone though I will read literally anywhere. If I have my phone and I can get away with it? I’m reading.
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
For someone who sells bookish merch including bookmarks (shameless plug here) I don’t use bookmarks at all. I always try and remember the page number, and have no idea why. My memory is poor as hell and I always forget or have to do little mental arithmetic to remember the number 😂
3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
I can just stop reading in theory, but if I’m really enjoying a book I do not stop reading haha. I will stay awake ALL NIGHT to get that book finished.
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
Yes, it’s easier if I’m reading ebooks because then I’m just holding my phone, paperbacks are much harder. Drink all the time when reading.
5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
Music yes but I can’t watch tv and read, unless it’s something I don’t actually want to watch.
6. One book at a time or several at once?
ALL THE BOOKS AT THE TIME. Honestly I always have a few books going, usually in different formats though.
7. Reading at home or everywhere?
EVERYWHERE. Again, especially if I’m reading an ebook because it’s on my phone so I can literally read it wherever I go.
8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Who reads out loud?! I mean, hats off to you if you do but I definitely don’t haha.
9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
NO. I skim read sometimes but never skip ahead.. I don’t see the point? Isn’t it just spoiling it for yourself?
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
Like new! I used to not care so much but since I became a book blogger I’ve become so precious and I don’t know why… I think I intend to take pictures of them but I definitely don’t haha.
11. Do you write in your books?
Nope, I kinda would like to but I don’t!

1. When do you find yourself reading?
All the time, any time, never haha. I read whenever I feel like it I guess? In bed, when I can’t sleep, in the afternoon, sometimes in the morning. Often when I have other things I need to do too…
2. What is your best setting to read in?
Uhm just somewhere with a blanket all snuggled up I think.
3. What do you do first – Read or Watch?
Whichever presents itself first. If I have an opportunity to watch it first I will, or if I have the book I’ll read it. Doesn’t really matter to me.
4. What form do you prefer? Audiobook, E-book or physical book?
I love all of them. Audiobook for when I’m driving or doing chores, ebook for when I’m out and about and physical when I’m in bed or at home.
5. Do you have a unique habit when you read?
Nope. I just read…
6. Do book series have to match?
I think they should, but I have so many mismatching series it’s unreal!

I love that you don’t use book marks 😂 I never use bookmarks, but then again I don’t sell them either 😉 I usually have to come up with weird ways to remember the number too!
I don’t know why I do it haha I just never have them handy. They’re all to be sold 😂
I feel you, we have roughly the same habits! (I will never understand how people watch tv and read at the same time, you are missing both things!)
Yeah I don’t think it’s actually possible to do both and take it in?!
I like to read, but my husband does not. This results in my trying to read while he watches TV. Most of the time that ends with me being distracted, which is why I LOVE football season. It’s so easy to ignore the football. =)
Ah okay! Yeah I read when he’s watching things I don’t wanna watch!
My sister once put on one of those “fireplace sounds” videos and I still got distracted 😂
Fire is so mesmerizing!
We are like the same person when it comes to reading hahahaha if I can read on my phone while I’m in class I will just do it , no one can stop me for reading a few more chapter 💛
Haha if I had a phone I could read on I would have done that in school!

Love this tag! I also read books while watching a TV show I don’t like. I don’t know why – wouldn’t it be easier to just turn the TV off? :))
Sometimes it could be a psychological thing? I find doing work or writing blog posts when the TV on helps kid me that I’m not doing that.
Fun tags! I’m with you on the poor memory which is why I stick anything I can find in there, although usually my 2 year old will just pull it out anyways.

I have so many mismatching series too, it’s so annoying when the don’t match. Especially if is because of a cover change.

omg I literally laughed out loud when I read that you don’t use bookmarks but I totally respect you for trying to memorize the page number ! I once used a torn off piece of a cardboard box because I didn’t have a bookmark with me and I felt so dumb, maybe I’ll just have to try and memorize the page next time ahaha 🙂 lovely tag!
