November Wrap Up

Where has this year gone? It’s December already, I still have about 13 books to read if I want to reach my goal of 50 books this year! Doable, right? Well we’ll see. For now I bring you what I read through November for day 3 of Blogmas. I actually got all my reviews up as well for them too!

((I actually forgot about one of the books, I’ve added it now!))

Books I finished this month

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers, #1)The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book really blew me away. Since reading it I realised it is classed as a space opera and if I had read that before it may have put me off. When reading it I felt all warm and fuzzy, I was invested and interested in everything. The world building was really well done, it wasn’t thrown at you randomly, it was given when it was needed and realistically. Full review below.

Glass Sword (Red Queen, #2)Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Phew I finally finished listening to this one. I really struggled rating this one. I enjoyed Red Queen SO much that I stuck this out until the end. Unfortunately I found it very slow, Mere was whiny and very repetitive, which just grated on my nerves towards the end.
I’ve changed my review to 3 stars as I think 2 stars was too harsh! Full review linked below.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book. At first I was convinced there was an error as the weird formatting of the text really daunted me, but I quickly got used to it. It also meant I read it much faster! You definitely have to read this one, please don’t let the formatting put you off. Full review linked below.

A Shiver of Snow and SkyA Shiver of Snow and Sky by Lisa Lueddecke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 stars!
This was a lovely debut from Lisa, the writing was gorgeous and I loved the Nordic setting. It was a tad slow paced for me and I was hoping there would be more plague in it (I’m a bit virus obsessed) but I still enjoyed it. Full review to come!

Books I’ve started this month

Digging in the stars

Digging in the Stars by Katherine Blackeney

I got this book on Netgalley and unfortunately had to DNF. I just couldn’t get into it. The plot moved way too fast without much worldbuilding at the beginning, I was so confused as to whether they were on Earth or? I think it has a lot of legs and others may enjoy it, unfortunately that wasn’t me.

This Mortal Coil (This Mortal Coil #1)This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK! I started this in November and finished in December so will be in my December wrap up but I had to give it some airtime here because it honestly was the best book I’ve read all year. Full review will come sooooooon but in the meantime READ IT.

  1. It seems like you had a great reading month! I loved This Mortal Coil and I also didn’t like Glass Sword. I’m still reading The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet but I’m going slow haha

  2. I’ve been super nervous to pick up Red Queen after seeing so many of my friends struggle with King’s Cage. The first book sounds amazing but each book there after ohh idk. Here’s hoping you end up loving the next book and wishing you tons of luck on reading lots of books in December.

    1. It’s tough to advise you because I really loved Red Queen but it just sucks so much not to enjoy the subsequent instalments?
      Thank you and you!!
