Introducing Ellie’s Top Ten Books – Newbie Blogger Spotlight No.8

Today’s Blogmas post another Newbie Blogger Spotlight! Meet Ellie, who is going to tell you a bit about herself and her top ten favourite books.

Hi Everyone,

I’m Ellie, a 17 year old book blogger who lives in the east midlands but am originally from London UK. I have been blogging for 4 months. The support I have received so far means a lot and I can’t wait to grow.

I write book reviews, blog tour posts, TBRs/wrap-ups and hauls. I also will be starting to do some different posts too. Another ambition of mine is to start a book tube channel .

I started Blogging as I have always loved reading and its like my escapism. Over the last 4 years I have suffered with Mental Health and attempted suicide. Although I’ve been in recovery now for a year I still suffer with my anxiety and tics on a lower level.

I thought blogging would give me some confidence and id be able to chat to people who share things in common with me. This has happened. It also made me happy enough to go to YALC this year which I wouldn’t of been able to do and had stopped doing big events due to my crippling anxiety. Everything about the bookish community makes me smile from ear to ear. I love chatting to bloggers, authors, publishers and fans of my posts. I also love collecting, looking and reading all the wonderful books out in the world.

As well as this I’m often in bed or laying on the sofa, and blogging/reading is the one activity I am still able to do. This is due to my Fibromyalgia (A chronic pain condition) so it makes me relaxed and happy when I’m in pain and fatigued. I do this with my cute dog Lucy who’s a bichon frise (she features In many of my pictures as she’s a great model). Even before I started my blog I’ve had a colour coordinated excel sheet with all books I own, format, upcoming and priority so I’m organized.

My favourite genres to read are YA contemporary romance, MH, LGBTQ, travel, friends/family drama, coming of age and books with any illness involved. The only book I’ve read that wasn’t one of these and I loved was Room by Emma Donoghue.

I also enjoy graphic novels but of the same sort of plot as I’m not into violence ect.
