Christmas Shopping for Fictional Characters

Hi everyone, it’s Jenn from Bound to Writing! I’m so excited to be guest posting on Jenn’s blog today during Blogmas!

Today I’m going to be doing a fun post on what Christmas gifts I would give to fictional book characters. To make everything more interesting I set a price limit of $15 dollars per gift. This limit made it harder for some of the characters on my list, but gift shopping isn’t always my strong suit.

Let’s give some gifts!

Top 10 Character Character Christmas Gifts:

1 Ezra Mason – Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

First up is one of my favorite guys out there, Ezra Mason. He’s arrogant but romantic. He’s loving but irritating. But he’s absolutely great! For him, I would give a Hacking 101 book. He would do anything to impress Kady. By learning some cool hacking skills he’ll definitely step up his game with Kady. Which I think will make him a lot happier.

2 Hades – Project Pandora by Aden Polydores

Now, I’ll be honest, Hades was the hardest one I had to do from this entire list. He’s a very cold, and unfeeling person. And I don’t think gifting a warm hug from Elizabeth is going to bring him Christmas cheer (well maybe it will.) Anyway, because of his love for working out, I decided that I would get him dumbbells. This is something practical that he can use when he needs to blow off some steam.

3 Erica – First Came Forever by Annie Woods

Erica is a sweet and loving character. She is in love with Sasha and they are building a happy life together. He gets her nice things that are fit for a princess. Because of this, I think Erica would really enjoy a crown shaped necklace. It is elegant and can go with any number of beautiful dresses that Sasha gets for her.

4 Bronwyn – One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

I had a really hard time deciding which character to do from One of Us is Lying. All of the characters are pretty awesome, but in the end, I decided that I would come up with a gift for Bronwyn. She is smart and caring, with a bit of nosiness. For that reason, I think Bronwyn should get a magnifying glass for Christmas. She’s a natural detective who likes to put the pieces together and get into other people’s business to find justice.

5 Maddie – The Loose Ends List by Carrie Firestone

For Maddie, life is filled with many magical moments. Whether they are with her family or friends memories are made. Her family likes to call them snow globe moments. For Christmas, Maddie will get a snow globe to represent her amazing journey that she went through.

6 Flora – The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr

Flora’s journal is the only way she can get through her day. She doesn’t retain any of her short-term memory, so this journal reminds her of who she is and the basics of her life. The thing with this journal is that it isn’t private. Anyone can read it, and write in it. I think Flora would really benefit from having her own private journal, separate from her everyday one where she can write her own secrets that no one else can see.

7 Aphrodite – Loved by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

Characters always grow in stories, but Aphrodite has gone from bad to good. She is still slightly irritating, but she is a great friend to Zoey and the group. She is there when needed and would do anything to ensure everyone’s safety even at the risk of her own life. I would personally love Aphrodite to be my friend and for that, I would give Aphrodite a BFF necklace.

8 Liesel – The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Liesel would most definitely be a wonderful book blogger. She loves books and goes to great lengths to get to them even when they are banned. She risks everything because of her love for books. For Christmas I would give Liesel a book, or many books (I can work miracles with only $15!) Now I spent a lot of time trying to decide what book(s) to get her, but it would probably be easier to pick books up randomly because then I might buy myself my own copy and that would defeat the purpose of shopping for others.

9 Charlie – The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Well, I may be cheating on this one a little bit. Sorry! But Charlie loves music. So it’s pretty obvious that he would enjoy a mix CD of all of his favorite songs and new songs that he’s yet to hear.

10 Peeta – The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Last but not least, Peeta. He is kind-hearted and loving. He’s laid back. Not too aggressive although participating in the Hunger Games. He has a great artistic thumb that can be seen in the book. For Christmas, I would get Peeta paints that he can use to practice his artistic side.

  1. Love this idea! I think Ezra would be quite happy with a hacking book haha though I think Kady would laugh at him if she’d find out
