Answering My Blog’s Search Term Results – How Did You Find Me?
Hello friends and bookish lovers, I recently saw Cait (Paperfury) doing this on her blog and I thought it was as really good idea so wanted to give it a go myself! It is still Blogmas so I’m sorry this isn’t a festive post, but I mean, we all need a little break from Christmas right?
The idea is that you look at what people have searched to find your blog, then answer their questions! At first I didn’t think I’d be able to do this as most of my results are either book titles, which wouldn’t be very entertaining, or questions about Shadowbanning on Twitter (because apparently I’m the expert on that now? hah). I extended the time to all of time and found some funny search terms so YES I CAN DO THIS POST.
What are Search Terms? They are what people type in to Google and then subsequently find your website from the results. Some are hilarious and others are just downright weird. So here goes!

harry’s blog. hi, i’m elllie and this is the first
The first what, Elllie? THE FIRST WHAT?! Also, this isn’t Harry’s blog, sorry to have misled you…
you steal you keel
Uhm… I wasn’t planning on stealing anything I SWEAR. Does this mean keel over and die? Or is it a weird way of saying kill so it rhymes… either way I don’t want to do either so I promise I won’t… get caught haha
how to not get shadowbanned on twitter
So most of the results were to do with this so I thought I’d just share the link to my post about being Shadowbanned on Twitter.
we’ll make you a plate
Oh how kind of you, what are we having?! I hope it’s something delicious, I’m craving Indian food, can you hook me up?
For real though, I actually know what this is from. I used to write reviews on Walking Dead episodes and this is the title of one.
aint nothing sadder than an outdoor cat
I mean there are so many things that are sadder, a lot sadder, than this but sure! Again, not sure how this led you to my blog?
another name for story
Okay so there’s tale, fable, saga… those are just a few. I hope that helps! Unless you were looking for another name for a SPECIFIC story, then I can’t help you without more info.
트위터 sex
uhm.. what? Apparently that first bit translates to Twitter. Uhm. Not sure how THIS linked to my blog either hah
bingeworthy tv for girls
Okay so let me tell you something, you don’t have to watch tv based on a gender. I know, mind blowing, but it’s true. So go and watch anything you want!
nothing is impossible novels
What a great outlook to have, you’re right! Nothing is impossible, especially when it comes to novels.
the walking dead train tracks
Dead train tracks that are walking?! WHAT?! Okay again, already mentioned the Walking Dead reviews so we know where this is from.
how to kill one’s mother
Uhm. Please don’t? I know they can be annoying sometimes, but so can you and I don’t think this is the answer! Seriously though should I be worried?!
how to wright application to promise donot do naughty
Honestly this one made me laugh so hard. What are you applying for? I think it’s implied that you won’t be ‘doing naughty’ so I think you’ll be good.

Okay so this was a random post! I don’t think I had as entertaining search terms as Cait, nor am I as amusing as she is, but I hope you enjoyed it none the less!
What are some of the weirdest search terms you’ve had to your site? If you don’t know or don’t have a site, what are some funny things you’ve searched for?

Aw thank you! I’m glad you liked it!
Some of those search terms were hilarious! Thanks for sharing this 😂
You’re welcome! I had fun haha
You’ve had some funny search terms!
Yes! I have no idea how some of these relate to my blog looool
Omg I love this 😂 I was actually just wondering about how people manage to find my blog through certain searches….
I also have noticed from search engines, there are one or two specific posts that seem to lead people to my blog the most?? 🤔 Pretty interesting.
I wish it showed more of the results! It omits so many. Those blog posts probably have the best SEO and are likely competing for keywords that aren’t that popular 🙂
This is hilarious and now I must do this.
Do it!!
Where did you find these search terms? Is this something wordpress tells you? I want to do this!! Haha 🙂 Great answers too! They were fun to read 🙂 and those are some super random searches!
Yes! WordPress shows you in the dashboard 🙂
This was so funny omg I can’t believe people searched some of this stuff!!
I know I don’t understand the way people use google sometimes
These were so funny! I have some weird ones of my own. A lot of random ones.
You should do a post too!
What a unique post! It’s always interesting to see how people find their way to a website. I’m going to go read your post about shadow banning on Twitter now 😉

Wow! Fun post!
Thank you!
My pleasure!
Okay this was so funny to read!! People do come up with odd search terms, don’t they? Do you think you’ll write more of these posts in the future? Because I am up for more of them haha
Thank you! Yes I plan to, fingers crossed I get some more interesting search terms!
Hahaha love this post so much! It made me chuckle quite a bit! And I honestly don’t even know how some of those searches could be related to a book blog at all … 😂😂
It beats me! No idea what people are thinking lol
Hahahahahha, this is hilarious! People can be soooo weird sometimes….
It’s wonderful how weird they are XD
Hahaaa this was fun! I’m still a baby blog and a searcher used “hayfork nudes” to find my blog
Whaaaat?! Lol
Hahaha! I love this idea! I was expecting an SEO analysis and with the first searxh term you listed I burst out laughing! You got me!
