2018 Wrap Up And 2019 Goals | Blogmas
So it’s time for the annual Wrap up and upcoming goals post, and I’ll be honest, I was tempted not to do one this year. 2018 has been… a year. Let’s just say I’ll be very glad to see the back of it. For that reason I won’t be reflecting on my ‘life’ achievements this year.
ANYWAY. Let’s look at the positives. I’ll be going through my goals I set at the end of last year and seeing if I achieved any of them.
This year’s proudest moment has to be winning a blogging award. I still can’t quite believe it, and I don’t think I actually wrote a post on it. I won the UKYABA Marvellous blogger award and honestly, it just makes me so happy that I managed such an amazing achievement. It’s all thanks to you guys and I am deeply grateful! Excuse the awful pictures, they were taken on the night and I haven’t taken any since.
Goal: to read at least 4 books a month next year, hopefully more
I managed this! As it stands on the 24th of December I have read 64 books this year, nearly double what I read last year!
Goal: to only read books I enjoy, life is too short to be wasting our time
I definitely did this in 2018. I DNF books I got bored with and only read books I was interested in.
Goal: Take CroneBloggers to the next level
I did this earlier in the year. We launched a discord group and several Twitter chats for our Book Club! Sadly I got too busy through the year to continue with it but I think we’ll be revisiting it next year.
Goal: to hit 1000 blog followers and continue to get great engagement form you lovely readers by posting more interesting content regularly
I SMASHED this goal! I currently sit at 1,590 followers on my blog and as you can see my engagement has grown so much this year, even though I took a few breaks. I also hit 70k views on my blog?!
I also redesigned my blog again. I am so in love with my new graphics and I’ve had such great feedback, so thank you so much guys! I’m really proud of how much I’ve improved with my blog this year.
Goal: start a few features in the new year
I did this! I started my Newbie Blogger Spotlight where each week I feature a new blogger on my blog. It’s been great fun and allowed me to meet so many new bloggers!
Goal: to start booktube again next year
I didn’t do this one. I filmed a few videos but I just… didn’t feel confident enough to post them. I still plan on doing this next year.
Goal: reach 1500 followers on Instagram
Nope not done this. I’m currently sitting at 1232 and honestly I’m happy with that because I haven’t been posting much on there.
Goal: Reach 4000 followers on Twitter
I am so excited to have surpassed this goal and am currently at 6,388 followers on Twitter! This is mind blowing and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I also hit 2 million impressions in one month which was amazing!
Spoke on a panel – At UKYABA I spoke on a panel with two other lovely bloggers. It was a lot of fun, if not nerve wracking, and I’m so proud I managed it! You can see the whole thing below.
Book Launches: I got invited to quite a few book launches this year but couldn’t make any of them unfortunately! The issues of living in Wales ey?
Blogger Events: I had the biggest pleasure of going to some blogger events this year! I went to Scholastic, Stripes and Bkmrk and had a few invites from some others too I couldn’t make. This makes me so happy and feels like I’ve made it in the community (though honestly if you haven’t been invited to these don’t take it to heart lovelies, these things are fickle!) I also went to YALC again which was super fun as usual and I think its the one event I will never miss. I got to meet so many other bloggers and I really enjoyed it.
I also got added to the WalkerYA blogger list which has taken me an entire year to get on to!
Launched Literary Galaxy and hit 100 sales: I am so proud of this one! Literary Galaxy is a bookish gift store that I own. I design the items and the graphics for the shop. I was also in a bookish box which was super fun. I haven’t done as much as I’d have liked to as things have gone on this year but I really want to amp it up in the new year!
- Get 2500 followers on my blog
- Get 10k followers on Twitter
- Be in more bookish subscription boxes with Literary Galaxy
- Have stands at bookish events with Literary Galaxy
- Continue to work on and improve my Blog
- Actually write some fiction this year at all
- Try BookTube again
Other than the first couple of goals which are just random estimations, I think these goals are a bit more achievable this year. 2018 taught me a lot of life lessons and some I’m still coming to terms with.
I’m going to end this one with a positive note of just be kind to your fellow humans <3
Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
