So here I am as part of a blog tour with a difference. Stay tuned for a mini review, a fan cast of the book by me and the author, Jacqueline Silvester and a GIVEAWAY!Wunderkids (Wildwood Academy #1) by Jacqueline Silvester

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy
15-year-old Nikka is invited to attend Wildwood Academy, a prestigious but secret boarding school for talented youth located deep in the Californian mountains. Once there, Nikka quickly falls in love with her bizarre classes, the jaw-dropping scenery and... two very different boys.
However, Wildwood Academy has a dark and twisted secret, one that could cost Nikka the one thing she had never imagined she could lose, the one thing that money can’t buy. It is this very thing that Wildwood Academy was created to steal.
Nikka can stay and lose everything, or she can risk death and run.
I loved Wunderkids so much. It was different than what I expected, and I was surprised so many times! It was written so well, there were hints that something more was going on but at no point was it really obvious and in your face (I’m still not sure exactly what’s going on!)
The characters were developed well, with some needing a bit more to go. I loved that they were somewhat unconventional. Amber had to be my favourite! There’s a cliffhanger at the end and I am chomping on the bit waiting for the next one.
So to make this a bit different we’ve decided to fan cast the characters! We’re both doing it separately and aren’t going to see who the other has chosen.
Wunderkids Fan Cast
First up is my fan cast! (Turns out I was going for an older cast – oops!)
Sums ~ Seth Rogan
Okay I know this may not be the most obvious choice, but I think Seth Rogan could really fit Sums character! He’s bubbly and curvy – probably a tad more charismatic than Sums would be but I think it’s close enough. I’d love to see him play the character of Sums.
Amber ~ Isla Fisher
Amber was one of my favourite characters, and I think Isla Fisher would be perfect! Gotta love that red hair.
Izaya ~ Ian Somerhalder
Okay I’ll admit. When I was searching for an image of Ian for this I MAY have gotten sidetracked by all the gorgeous topless pictures of him *drools* but I settled on this one as I liked the significance of him on the phone. I think he’s got the whole broody, distant thing down to a T.
Quinn ~ Jamie Dornan
He’s Irish, he’s cute, need I say more? I may not need to but I will. He’s perfect for Quinn, and I could really see him with Ian and Isla haha.
Nikka ~ Jennifer Lawrence
I LOVE Jennifer Lawrence. Like – so so much. She’d be a perfect Nikka. I can just imagine her being Nikka, wearing her outfits and the link.
Jacqueline’s Fan Cast
Nikka – Juno Temple
I love Juno Temple (especially in boarding school roles.) She has Nikka’s untamed curls and a kind of unobvious beauty. I’ve been obsessed with her ever since I saw Atonement, and loved her in St. Trinians, and Wild Child.
Sums- Gaten Matarazzo
It’s hard to cast Sums. I feel like in Hollywood they either have the chubby actor who is always cast in comedic supporting roles or they have the pretty boy, and there’s nothing in between. Yes Sums is overweight but he’s also handsome and charming and extremely intelligent, this all needs to come across instantly. (Obviously a casting agent would be able to find the perfect person, but I don’t know of any.)
Matarazzo isn’t really overweight but there is something really special about him. I feel like with his hair dyed blonde and some extra weight he could be perfect for Sums. His character in Stranger Things is quite different but I think he has the acting chops for our snarky lovable genius.
Quinn- Nico Mirallegro or James Mcavoy
When I wrote Wunderkids I had a photo of a young James McAvoy on my wall and he helped me create Quinn. After seeing him play Professor Xavier though I can’t really see him as Quinn anymore, imaging him as Quinn now kind of feels like I’m trying to merge Wunderkids with X-men (I’m a big X-men fan). So I’ll go for Nico Mirallegro, I loved him in My Big Fat Diary. He has that air of playful mischief about him that is so Quinn.
Izaya- Shiloh Fernandez (all the way)
Let’s just say I have a number of magazine clippings of Shiloh Fernandez that have the name Izaya scribbled across them in sharpie. I first noticed him in Little Red Riding Hood. That scowl, that discontent on his beautiful face. Just reminds me of brooding Izaya.
Amber- Deborah Ann Woll
She’s too old for the role now but since we are fan casting I would pick Deborah Ann Woll. I loved her in True Blood and I think she could nail Amber’s whimsy and her free spirit.
