The Festive Christmas Book Tag
Hello lovely friends, today is day 8 of Blogmas! I really love doing tags this time of year, and I saw this one over on Cerys’ blog and just had to do it! It was a guest post from Ash, and the original tag was made by the booktuber GirlReading.
Please feel free to do the tag yourself, even if you’re not tagged!
If you’re looking for Blogmas ideas, check out my first Blogmas post.
1. A fictional family you would like to spend Christmas dinner with?
Okay so this has to be the Weasley’s right? They would magic up the most amazing food, you’d play quidditch, exploding snap and Wizard Chess… it would be so much fun! Also the family is just so fun… yep. That’s my firm answer. OH and we’d all get a Weasley jumper, right?
2. A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?
AN INVISIBILITY CLOAK. Okay… do you mean something that I could actually get? A bookish scarf? OHHH Literary gloves!! I ‘d love those. With the entirety of a novel on them.
3. A fictional character you think would make a perfect Christmas elf?
Uhm this is a tough one… other than Dobby? No I think Dobby is the obvious answer here.
4. Match a book to it’s perfect Christmas song.
Uhmmm…. I find these king of things so difficult haha.
I’m gonna go with:

Thousands of them have lived underground. They've lived there so long, there are only legends about people living anywhere else. Such a life requires rules. Strict rules. There are things that must not be discussed. Like going outside. Never mention you might like going outside.
Or you'll get what you wish for.
and Baby it’s Cold Outside… because you know… they’re trapped in a Silo and can’t go outside? Is that a reach? haha.
5. Bah Humbug. A book or fictional character you’ve been disappointed in and should be put on the naughty list?
CARDEN. I know he’s a bad boy and all that but HONESTLY WHY WON’T YOU BE GOOD FOR MY POOR HEART.
6. A book or a fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserve to be put on the nice list?
Carve the Mark. I loved that book so much, you can see my full review here, but honestly I just really liked the narrative and the fact that one of the main characters went through life with a chronic condition and still slayed.
7. Red, Gold and Green. A book cover that has a wonderfully christmasy feel to it.
The Way Past Winter by Kiran Millwood Hargrave

Mila and her sisters live with their brother Oskar in a small forest cabin in the snow. One night, a fur-clad stranger arrives seeking shelter for himself and his men. But by the next morning, they've gone - taking Oskar with them. Fearful for his safety, Mila and her sisters set out to bring Oskar back - even it means going north, crossing frozen wild-lands to find a way past an eternal winter.
Okay a book that makes me think of winter and Christmas is A Way Past Winter. I haven’t read it yet but I definitely own it so I’ll be reading it soon.
8. A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their Christmas tree this year so they can read it and love it too?
THIS MORTAL COIL. THIS MORTAL COIL.

Catarina Agatta is a hacker. She can cripple mainframes and crash through firewalls, but that’s not what makes her special. In Cat’s world, people are implanted with technology to recode their DNA, allowing them to change their bodies in any way they want. And Cat happens to be a gene-hacking genius.
That’s no surprise, since Cat’s father is Dr. Lachlan Agatta, a legendary geneticist who may be the last hope for defeating a plague that has brought humanity to the brink of extinction. But during the outbreak, Lachlan was kidnapped by a shadowy organization called Cartaxus, leaving Cat to survive the last two years on her own.
When a Cartaxus soldier, Cole, arrives with news that her father has been killed, Cat’s instincts tell her it’s just another Cartaxus lie. But Cole also brings a message: before Lachlan died, he managed to create a vaccine, and Cole needs Cat’s help to release it and save the human race.
Now Cat must decide who she can trust: The soldier with secrets of his own? The father who made her promise to hide from Cartaxus at all costs? In a world where nature itself can be rewritten, how much can she even trust herself?
I love this series so much, it was my favourite of 2017 and you all need to add this to your TBR RIGHT NOW. My full review can be found here.
I hope you enjoyed my answers! Have you read any of the books mentioned?
I’m not going to tag anyone’s blog but please feel free to do the tag if you want to!

Dobby and The Weasley’s are such PERFECT answers <3 <3 I should really pick up The Mortal Coil, everyone loves it so much and now you've recommended it so yeah 😀
Yes you really need to!
I, also, would love to spend Christmas with the Weasley’s. If I had better skill at crocheting, I would make myself a Weasley sweater. (I cannot knit for beans.)
SAME I’d love one haha
